I have a QuickBMS script that I wrote up for 3D All-Stars that works just fine with the HAR/HIX files from the recent ports.
Question, does Galaxy in 3D All-Stars do anything special with how it's textures are stored?
All I can find in the RomFS in regards to the remastered textures is within "data/ondemand_texture_replace" as plain PNG files, but a lot of them seem like they're missing such as the textures related to Mario among others.
Besides that, there's another folder that's just called "texture_replace" and contains these .HIX and .HAR files.
These seem like they're archives containing the rest of the textures, but Switch Toolbox is unable to do anything with them and I can't seem to find anywhere online documenting what these are.
Since Galaxy is supposedly repurposed from the Nvidia Shield version, I'm curious if there's anything similar going on with that version since I could've sworn I've seen more textures that have been dumped from that release in texture packs that were converted to work with Dolphin.
It's also worth noting that Galaxy 1 + 2 also have all these files, though the textures in these versions were remade entirely in some cases such as Luigi's clothing now having more fabric details.
Either way, I'm curious if there's any way to dump the rest of the textures if there's any more than the loose PNG files to find.

is Mario still vertex colored?
@DogToon64 didn't work
@resekf Try this RAW file to PNG file converter. I hope this helps
if it did work, i would've probably converted all the remaining textures already. i don't know why it doesn't work. the mario sunshine textures are saved as png files. no idea why nintendo just didn't use .png files for sm64 textures. would've been way easier to upload them here.
@DogToon64 that didn't work either, it said unknown file format.
@resekf Try dragging the texture and dropping it into GIMP instead of using the "file → open"
@DogToon64 I went into file -> open, then I checked show all files, then I selected file type "Raw image data" and then it didn't work. I tried every image type. Nothing worked.
@resekf Did you drag and drop it? Or tell it to import?
ok, thank you. will try that
edit: didn't work :( i just get garbled pixels

@resekf you just import them as raw image data into gimp
time to pop the SM64 HD textures into PJ64! :D
Oh, ok. I wanted to make sure that they were in that .cpio file. I was also wondering how to extract the .rpt files since they’re a format that I’ve never seen before. HxD also didn’t help.
@resekf: Yeah, Super Mario 64's textures are packed in the texture_pack.cpio file. I'm already in the process of getting the remainder of the images from SM64 (the UI elements and ending screen) ready for The Spriters Resource, but everything else is fair game.
Random Talking Bush, how did you extract these textures? Are they in an archive file?
