@Tee-tah Furby They do, that's why the Pet Penguin has such odd looking textures. Jasper has told me within the PMs on how they work, go ask him yourself if you want.
also i don't think they use vertex coloring. at least for the animals.

@DigitalDiamal i could find out how to port mmd models to sfm and gmod so we can use them for animations. also replying to an part of your pm. we can get animations i just don't know to extract em
@Tee-tah Furby Oh, but yeah, it's kinda sad cause I would like to see the models used for non-commercial projects that just only made for fun from other users.
I'm planning someday that I will import the models alongside the Dens into MikuMikuDance. But I will have to figure out what to do with how the models work into importing them, due to the usage of vertex coloring.

@Tee-tah Furby I wouldn't expect models so soon, didn't I warned you about what will happen if you attempt to submit models from this game? WW will DMCA strike this site if that happens, I've warned Jasper before about this when I introduced him to this game.

Lol. anyways i did find an way to extract models just an tiny problem, they are stuck in frame of animation if someone could help me than we could probably post it
@Cavan Ashton What are you talking about? The only thing I remember that parents complained about was on the PC version of AJ (or as I like to call it, the main AJ) was that they where some idiots doing sex roleplay in the game and that was it.
illegal and rude game that parents are getting upset about.

Most coloring done in the game is done through RGB textures + the alpha channel is used for 2 purposes [the transparency is used as ambient occlusion texture + fully opaque pixels are used to separate areas that don't change color such as the pink of paws]
Vertex coloring is mainly used in environments [areas/dens] and multiplied with black/white detail textures. A couple pets use vertex coloring and some clothing/den items use it as a form of ambient occlusion or as simple coloring in addition to RGB textures
