@IkaMusumeFan06: Because reflective effects are very, VERY processor heavy. Hard-mapping a reflected texture takes up much fewer resources than re-rendering the surroundings on the reflective surface. (This is why Fountain of Dreams has enough of a lagging problem in four-player matches to be banned in doubles tournaments.)
It's usually more than good enough; you probably never would have even noticed if not looking at the texture rip.
